Shipments of Love: Heroes in Action
(Holland, OH) --- On Sunday residents in Holland gathered for a spaghetti dinner to raise money to send care packages to our troops overseas. Angela Walter's husband is serving as a field medic in Iraq. So when he told his wife they were really missing some comforts from home like beef jerky, ramen noodles, and chapstick, she had an idea. With some help from Heros in Action and Stautzenberger College, she helped organize a spaghetti dinner at Club 16 in Holland. If you missed the event you can still donate. U.S. servicemen and women have requested baby wipes, chapstick, moisturizer, batteries, beef jerky, ramen noodles, and baked beans or soup with a pop top lid. You can drop them off at the Heros in Action headquarters at the Calvary Assembly Church on Glendale Avenue in South Toledo during business hours.
