WPSA Riders Receive Invitations to Winter X Games 11
The list of WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour riders receiving invitations to Winter X Games 11 climbed to 24 recently with the addition of seven more invitees. Winter X Games 11 is scheduled for Jan. 25-28 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. MANITOWOC � There can be debate among citizens, politicians and the soldiers themselves about what America should do in Iraq. But Lakeshore-area residents can't go wrong sending cookies, chocolate and Christmas cards as part of holiday care packages. "Anything you get from home means something," said Sgt. 1st Class Jesse Klein, who returned to Manitowoc in October after a year in Iraq. "Beef jerky was huge and personalized cards impressed me," said the member of the 377th U.S. Army Reserves. "My boyfriend, my soldier, my hero -- Proud girlfriend" is the handmade bumper sticker on Barb Hamacher's car. Last Saturday at AmVets Post 99, she and other members of a multi-branch Military Family Support Group were addressing holiday cards and gathering donated items.
Georgia Agriculture Department Alerts Consumers About Beef Jerky ...
ATLANTA, GA (November 18, 2006) - The Georgia Department of Agriculture is alerting consumers that several types of beef jerky products are being recalled because they may contain an animal drug in excess of tolerable limits. Mirab USA, Inc., of Taylor, Mich., is voluntarily recalling approximately 23,200 pounds of beef jerky products that may contain the animal drug Doramectin. The problem was discovered through routine sampling of the Food Safety Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The amount of Doramectin found in this product exceeds the tolerance level established by the Department of Health and Human Service�s Food and Drug Administration of 30 parts per billion in meat.
