Iraq Paks packed--again!
Piggott's Iraq Pak volunteers had their second day of packing on Saturday, Dec. 2. Thirty-five boxes of snacks and goodies, magazines, toiletries, and other items requested by the 875th Engineering Battalion scattered in Iraq were mailed out on Monday, Dec. 4. That number is up from twenty-seven last month at the first Iraq Pak mailing. Each box is worth approximately $40-50 and costs $8.10 to deliver. Monday's mailing will cost about $285. "We've added six boxes this month," said Richard Akins, one of the volunteer coordinators, "of names given to us from soldiers in Iraq. They'd seen that these six guys haven't received anything since they've been there so we added them to our list." Due to the need to meet Christmas mailing deadlines, the monthly mailing was moved up a few days.
